My Epiphany Moment — Stop Trying to Do it All

When You Say Yes to Something You Are Saying No to Something Else

This morning I did my regular meditation and felt refreshed and peaceful afterwards as usual.

When I began my day’s work it was a different matter, I am self-employed and I absolutely love my work. I consider myself unbelievably blessed. However this morning something wasn’t right.

Recently I agreed to be part of a new content creation platform. I had agreed after a short meeting with one of the founders. It sounded like a great opportunity. I had said yes without thinking much about it. This morning I had to create some content for the platform.

But, here’s the thing — I hate creating video content. And I mean Hate with a capital H! What on earth was I thinking?

I believe in saying yes to opportunities, but my problem is I am always saying yes to things which means I can end up spreading myself really thin on the ground.

I had a moment of real clarity this morning where I thought, I am not focusing on my strengths. I am trying to do things that are not my strengths just because I think it sounds like yet another great opportunity.
